I have been very lazy with writing in the past month and currently have 18 blog posts back-logged. This is one of the 18 and this visit took place before Halloween.
My visit to the Townhouse Diner in North White Plains was on a Sunday morning when the diner was buzzing with energy and families. This is a newly open diner on Route 22 where a good diner is desperately needed. The service was both efficient and sufficient. The diner was clean and new. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre.
Farmer’s Omelette: Ham, bacon and sausage. Made with country fresh eggs. Served with potatoes and toast. All the ingredients were there when I got it but the dish was bland.
Huevos Rancheros: Eggs over easy, refried black beans, rice, Monterey Jack cheese and salsa. Made with country fresh eggs. Served with potatoes and toast. This was ok but the cheese on eggs looked pretty funny to me.
Buttermilk Pancakes with Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. Again the verdict was just ok.
So, if you want a “just ok” experience, this is the place to be. The place is clean and the wait staff really want to please, even if they are new and don’t know their jobs yet. If you live in North White Plains, you could probably drive a few minutes to White Plains where there are more options. If you live in Armonk, this diner may be serviceable since the price to food quality ratio is more acceptable in comparison to the over-priced pretentious menu items that may not taste all that much better. Plus, this diner has traditional breakfast options.

I wonder if they are still working on the menu since it the restaurant is new.
